Our Farm to Sea Auction is THIS FRIDAY, September 28, from 6-9:30 pm in downtown Portland. This year’s event will include live and silent auctions, dinner with complimentary beer and wine, and a fabulous new venue-The Masonic Temple on Congress Street.  Some of this year’s amazing auction items include: A week at Sugarloaf, a week on Nantucket, a six day African safari, a white water rafting trip, a Boston Red Sox package, art, jewelry, fine dining, golfing packages, weekends on Islesboro, Chebeague and Peaks, a sea plane and fishing expedition, Portland Ovations tickets, a weekend at Sebago and more!  Please see the full list of LIVE AUCTION ITEMS below. Be a Writer-Photographer for Maine. magazine

The staff of Maine. magazine invites you to be a part of their team as one of three 48HRS editors. Spend a weekend* in a special part of the state, record your adventures in real time, write blurbs and take photos that will make up your portion of the story.

After determining a weekend that works with your schedule, we will arrange lodging for you and your guest. We will also provide you with a $400 stipend to make use of on your trip. We encourage you to experience the town in your own unique way and share what you find with our readers.

You will take part in the team planning meeting that will prep you in advance of the trip. 48HRS typically begins on Friday at 5:00 and extends through noon on Sunday when you will intersect once again with the team. Our editors will work with you to refine your text before press deadline. If all goes well, your story will appear in an upcoming issue of Maine. and online.

A one-of-a-kind 48HRS Seabags tote is included.

*Weekend must be selected from one of 12 predetermined weekends from the 2013 48HRS story schedule.

There’s nothing like the thrill of race day!  Choose one day of the Eggomoggin Reach Regatta and join the race crew of the spectacular Isobel, a fast and luxurious 75’ custom sloop, built at Brooklin Boatyard.
