Our Day at Camp Kieve

Posted on Sunday November 16, 2014

It’s been a busy start to a very busy year here at Wayfinder Schools.  You can read some of what we’ve been up to here: September & October 2014.

Last week, we were lucky enough to be able to bring our Camden & New Gloucester campuses together for a day of leadership and team building at Camp Kieve.  We started off the day with group problem solving exercises on the ground, and by the end of the day had worked our way to the highest elements of the high ropes course.

Along the way we worked on problem solving, overcoming fears and building trust. “I’m so proud of these kids,” said Residential Program Director Joseph Hufnagel. “They worked hard and they worked together to come up with some really great ideas. At one point they called their own resolution circle to talk through a problem they were having difficulty with.  The two campuses worked well individually and together, and every single one of them tried the highest rope course elements. What a day!”

Or as student Ethan put it, “It was awesome.”
