Job Title:                              Development Manager
Job Location:                      New Gloucester Campus with occasional travel to the Camden Campus

Job Description

 

The Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for creating, administering, and implementing the organization’s long-term development plan, which entails developing and implementing a growth strategy for the future, organizing outreach efforts, and managing relationships with the organization’s board, new and existing donors, and volunteers. Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills, and a collaborative work style, are needed. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Wayfinder Schools offer relational learning programs that transform the nature of a high school education by providing students with the skills and experience necessary to discover their strengths, connect with their families, practice personal responsibility, and contribute to their communities, and which culminate in awarding a high school diploma from the State of Maine.

 Job Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:  Five or more years of experience in the non-profit development field, with demonstrated experience with the following functions:

  • -Donor Relations and Management
  • -Board Development and Support
  • -Volunteer Management
  • -Events Management and Support
  • -Fundraising and Grant Development Support
  • -Promoting positive visibility of an organization in the community
  • -Use of fundraising/donor management software

 

Preferences:  A strong commitment to positive youth development, and knowledge of restorative justice, student centered learning, working with teens in alternative settings, and teaching through a social justice lens. Familiarity with project management software is helpful but not required.

Skills:  The successful candidate must be confident, well organized, and comfortable working in a fast paced setting with a high level of professionalism. He/she must have the ability to work in a highly collaborative work environment with staff, board, and volunteers. Confidentiality is a fundamental characteristic, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and sharp attention to details. Demonstrated ability to effectively handle problems quickly and efficiently is also essential. This person must possess excellent computer skills with proficiency in basic word processing and spreadsheet programs.

 

Education:            Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary:                     Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
