Academic Requirements and Objectives

Residential Academic Requirements (16 credits):

  • Active participation in Group Specialty Classes and completion of all activities, responsibilities, and projects developed in collaboration with and/or assigned by the Lead Teacher.
  • Design individualized learning plans in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, complete self-directed projects, follow-through on their self-care, wellness and physical education plans, complete their end of year Passage Project
  • Attend weekly academic check-ins with the Lead Teacher to assess learning and progress

By completing these academic requirements, students will meet the following objectives:

  • Determine and follow a clearly defined academic schedule and calendar
  • Engage in meaningful field work and frequent field trips
  • Set clear and attainable goals
  • Develop personal academic skills
  • Form interactive relationships and collaborative partnerships with regional schools, educational organization, and learning centers
