Remembering Ethan Ward
Last week we learned that 2015 Wayfinder graduate Ethan Ward was one of the four fishermen aboard the Emmy Rose. Ethan was a big-hearted hard worker, always pitching in to help, and balancing his schoolwork with new fatherhood as he kept his eye on his graduation goals and making a better life for himself and his young family. We are heartbroken. We have spent this last week sharing with each other our memories and photos from Ethan’s time here at Wayfinder, and we send our love to his family and friends, and to all his classmates, teachers and the extended Wayfinder family who were lucky enough to know and spend time with Ethan.
“I will remember our trip to New York and how the sky was so lit up the first night at the pier. It was so beautiful. I have never seen anything like that before. I will remember walking in Manhattan for the very first time and seeing how the roads in the city are set up like a grid. The food is different too, it’s almost like it tastes better in New York. I loved my time there and the people I spent my time with.” - from Ethan’s reflection on our Class trip to NYC, 2015
