Meet Mackenzie!

"When you hear the words 'teen mom' and 'high school drop-out,' what do you think of? Not good things, right? What about when I say, 'businessperson' and 'health information technology associate'? I imagine you're thinking of two very different people. What if I told you both of those people are me?"

This was the powerful opening to Mackenzie Gray’s Finding our Way story, shared at our March 5th live storytelling event at The Camden Opera House. Mackenzie was one of three Wayfinder grads to share her story that night.

It’s hard to believe how much has changed since then. What hasn't changed is that we are still meeting with our students each week (though we are now doing so by phone and internet) and that we are still making food & supply deliveries to our students (though now to their doorsteps).

We are, now more than ever, providing a critical lifeline for our students, many of whom are home alone with young children.

Please take a moment listen to Mackenzie's story below. This year we will graduate more students like Mackenzie, including one who will be the first person in his family ever to graduate high school. We are so proud of our students, and we need your help to get them over the finish line.

Our major annual fundraiser was scheduled for April 30 and has now been postponed until fall. To offset this loss and meet our goals for this school year, we need to raise $56,000 by June 30 and we need your help to do it. We hope you will click the donate button below to make a tax-deductible donation in support our current students and future graduates like Mackenzie.

With warm wishes for you and your family, and appreciation for all you are doing to make our communities stronger,

The Wayfinder Team
