Fall 2024 Student Workshops

Our Passages Program teachers work together and with members of the community to create workshops for students that are aligned with the arts, practical life skills, outdoor education, and career exploration.

In September, October, and November, we’ve been busy with workshops at the Bates College Museum of Art, Washington County Community College, Indian Township Health Fair & Walk, Popham Beach, Curtis Memorial Library, Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta, Skidompha Public Library, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, local apple orchards, hiking trails, and more. Some workshops include practical life skills like cooking, and others allow students to explore career paths, like veterinary science, that interest them.

We are so fortunate to also have regular workshops at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art. After touring current museum exhibits and receiving instruction about the elements and principles of art from Mia Bogyo, Education Programs Manager, students create collaborative and individual pieces in the beautiful CMCA art lab.
